DIY (do it yourself) Guides
Being an artist, I like working with my hands. I’m also a strong believer in the free sharing of information. I have learned so much from the information others have written and posted for free on the internet that I like to post my own information when I can. Both of the sites below aim to do that, and each has become quite popular.
Build Your Own Easel
The first site I built was a full set of instructions on how to build a large studio easel for painting. When I first started out I was painting big, and easels that accomodated large canvases were very pricey ($500 and up). I decided to design and build my own instead. After doing so I wrote up a set of plans and detailed instructions and posted them online. Ever since, I regularly receive emails and photographs from artists around the world who have built an easel from my plans.

How To Replace the Upper and Lower Thermostat Housing on a Ford 4.0L V6 SOHC Engine
The second site details a tricky but commonly-needed repair on a Ford 4.0L V6 engine. The lower thermostat housing often fails on this engine, as it did on mine. Internet searches turned up bits and pieces of the puzzle here and there, but not everything in one place. So as I took the engine apart and figured out how to replace the part, I took photos and notes and wrote up a how-to site that describes the repair. This particular engine is in many Ford models, including the Ranger, Explorer, and Mustang. As a result, I get emails about once/week from people who have used the site to fix their engines. Following this site has saved people nearly $1000 in labor.
